We are seeking a reliable and skilled class 2 driver to join our team based in Brimsdown, Enfield. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed / rigid body crane offload vehicles, and a strong commitment to safety. As a Driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to various locations within Greater London and the Home Counties while ensuring the high standards of service and compliance with all regulations.
Responsibilities
Operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition and record any faults.
Load and secure steel and rebar safely before leaving site.
Use on on board crane and yard overhead cranes to load vehilces.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, and delivery times.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
Communicate effectively with office staff, yard teams and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the lorry both inside and out.
Qualifications
Valid commercial driving licence (Class 2) with a clean driving record.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with flatbed vehicles.
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
Time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading tasks as required.
