Primarily to work as a HGV multi-drop delivery driver delivering goods to customers. Orders are palletised and unloaded using pump truck or electric pump truck. The role is primarily HGV driver but with occasional days to be worked as a van driver.
Pay rate 15.50-16.50
A Driver qualification card and Driver Tachograph card are essential for the role. Applicants must have no more than 3 penalty points in their license. Must have a current UK driving license that permits him to drive vehicles up to 32 tons (Cat C), and preferably has 2 years driving in UK experience.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check load security and all necessary equipment, paperwork, GPS, fuel card, Fire extinguisher, first aid kit, triangle, accident form, CPC, are on board prior to leaving the depot for the day's journey.
Checking that all the pallets are accounted for against delivery sheets and unloaded at the correct customer.
Ensuring that vehicles are kept in an appropriate condition that defects are reported, and the cab interior are kept tidy
Driving in a safe, courteous and legal manner, complying with all current EU Road Transport regulation and WTD always
Follow policies and procedures outlined in Drivers Handbook and H&S Manual
Adhere to customer unloading times of maximum 15 min per drop (exclusions apply as per customer SLA's)
Maintaining legal tachographs.
Unload goods at the customer's premises safely, efficiently and always in a considerate and polite fashion, without damaging customer property & considering the care and attention of the public at all times.
Report customer delivery restrictions and failures.
Obtaining delivery signatures from customers.
Communicate effectively with the co-workers and the transport team.
Ensure returned goods are acceptable and done according to Returns procedure.
Collect and return goods to the warehouse as and when required.
Plan the shortest and best routes to clients by taking factors like road restrictions and traffic into consideration.
Use GPS navigation apps and knowledge of the area to deliver goods to customers on time.
Be aware of and how to follow the company procedure for vehicle breakdowns.
On return, clear all empties off the vehicle.
On return, remove all personal possessions and rubbish (cans/bottles etc.) from vehicle cabs.
Ensure the vehicle is returned with a full tank of fuel and AdBlue.
Be aware of the legal load capacity of the vehicle to be driven.
Act as an ambassador for the Company when meeting customers, creating an excellent impression.
Inform management about known H&S breaches and failures to follow company policies.
Any other reasonable duties as allocated by the Operations Manager, Transport Manager, Commercial or Managing Directors.

Minimum PPE requirements (hi-vis vest, work ware boots, gloves).
Walking on designated walking routes when these are available.
Be aware of the forklifts working on the loading area.
Be aware of spillages surrounding loading/unloading area.
Inform your supervisor of any injuries, strains or illnesses, or if you take any medication that makes you drowsy.
Report incidents, including near misses and accidents.
Establishing and maintaining personal hygiene
Maintaining food hygiene
Carrying out relevant procedures in the case of an emergency
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
Good time keeping
Customer service skills
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Confident in dealing with people on the phone and in person
HGV Class II driving license

2 years of HGV driving experience
