Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver (HGV Class 2) to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting processed glass products safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. Experience with curtain sided lorries is highly desirable.

There will be an expectation to undertake some work within the factory at times.

Duties

Operate curtain sided lorries for the transportation of goods across designated routes. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately to prevent damage during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies and regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any client concerns professionally. May be required to drive delivery van or support work within the factory if no deliveries due.

Experience

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is essential. A valid commercial driving licence (Class C) is required, with a clean driving record. Experience with curtain sided trucks is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided for the right candidate. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
