Class 2 Driver - Salary dependent on experience



We have an opportunity for a HGV Class 2 driver to join our team, driving either a 7.5 ton or 18 ton company vehicle, working from our site on the edge of Gloucester providing a professional service to our customers nationwide. You must be good with early starts as you will usually start between 04.00 and 06.30, depending on your route on the day but you have some flexibility in your start times whilst also complying with appropriate driving times, with most routes taking between 8 and 10 hours per day.

Your usual days of work will be Monday to Friday with variable hours but in line with the Working Time Directive Rules for Drivers and should not exceed an average of 48 hours per week over a 26-week period. All breaks should be taken in accordance with Drivers Hours Rules for HGV. There is no requirement for overnight or weekend working and you will be paid salary rather than by the hour.

Applicants must have full in date UK Class 2 driving licence, preferably with no more than 3 points on their licence, as well as a valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card and at least 2 years driving experience, preferably over a wide geographical area, ideally with some experience driving nationwide.

What is the job?



Take responsibility to deliver all orders on time, in full and in accordance with Company procedures and customer site instructions, obeying individual procedures and restrictions Drive in s safe and responsible manner at all times. Complete the pre-operation check procedures using the app (Convey Driver) before departing and on return to site. Follow the company procedure for reporting vehicle defects, including taking photographs and informing the Transport Supervisor. Ensure the load is always secure using the straps provided. Collect empty stillages where possible and room on the vehicle allows. Report all accidents & collisions (however minor) to the Transport Supervisor or Manager. Co-operate with the company on matters concerning health and safety. Adhere to all the Company's Safe Systems of Work guidelines.
