Job Summary

As a Class 2 Driver for Altrad Generation you will be responsible for providing the Company with professional driving services to meet the service demands of the business. Also, assist loading and unloading vehicles when required ensuring that all loads conform to transport regulations and the loads are safely secured, strapped and warning signs are displayed if appropriate. Additionally, carry out all relevant activities safely, whilst observing Company policies & procedures and current road transport legislation including all aspects of tachographs and EU regulations.

Responsibilities and duties

All customers are expected to be dealt with in a polite, courteous, and effective manner, promoting the company's products and services to customers.

Ensuring that all documentation requiring customer signature as proof of delivery or collection are signed by the customer and relevant copies distributed.

When driving carry out daily vehicle and auxiliary equipment maintenance checks prior to operation of any vehicle. Drivers must wear gloves, keep a clean interior, steering wheel, hand brake gear lever and door handles inside and out with anti bac wipes and spray. Wash hands with soap and water. Report any defects immediately before departing branch.

Highlight any alterations to load lists and brought to the attention of the administration team.

All FLT operators must be satisfied that their forklift is safe to operate and free from defects. Daily or pre-shift checklists must be completed. Any defects should be recorded and reported immediately to the Branch office.

Report any damages or any accident immediately or at the first opportunity to the Transport office or to the Branch Manager.

Only operate machinery including forklift trucks, lorry mounted cranes and slings if you have been trained and are in possession of a certificate of competence to operate these machines.

Communications are to be made in relation to any unforeseen delays at the first possible convenience by means of your mobile phone.

Where a Company uniform and personal protective equipment has been issued, they must always be worn when on duty.

Contribute to the safety of all road users by maintaining proper and effective vehicle control, whilst promoting road safety.

Have a due regard to Health & Safety and maintain responsibility around your working environment, other employees, customers and members of the public.

You may be required to undertake yard duties. This will be dependent on the needs of the business and/or between driving assignments.

Carry out specific projects ad hoc.

Qualifications and skills

Category C1 Driving Licence

Minimum 2 years' relevant experience

Previous customer experience
