Overview

Builders Merchant seeking to employ a Class 2 HGV driver to deliver building materials to customers predominantly within the Huddersfield area.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a flatbed lorry for the delivery of goods to designated locations. Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents immediately. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo,using a Hi Ab crane, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit. Communicate effectively with customers receiving goods. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Ability to operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles safely and efficiently. Experience in the operation of a Hi Ab crane to load and unload vehicles is essential. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. A commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations.
