Responsibilities

Safely drive and operate 18-tonne (Class 2) rigid HGVs on local and regional delivery routes. Carry out pre-start and post-shift vehicle checks (walkaround, fluids, lights, tail lift). Load, secure and unload goods safely (use of tail lift / manual handling as required). Plan and optimise daily delivery routes to meet schedules and reduce mileage. Complete delivery documentation and ePODs accurately; report discrepancies and damaged goods. Quality check goods on collection and delivery; rework or sort returns when required. Report vehicle defects and escalate maintenance issues promptly. Adhere to Drivers' Hours, tachograph rules and company safety policies. Assist with goods-in/outside core delivery duties when needed to support the warehouse team.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years' experience in delivery driving. Valid

Class 2 HGV (Category C)

licence -- essential. Current Driver CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) -- essential for professional driving. IT proficient (mobile devices / ePOD apps / basic data entry). Articulated forklift licence preferred (desirable). Good customer service skills, punctuality and a positive, team-focused attitude.
