Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and reliable Driver to join our Pallet Network Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Experience within a pallet network and commercial driving is highly desirable, along with a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to road safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Operate curtain side lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies. Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery of goods to clients or distribution centres. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly. Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Handling any paperwork or electronic equipment related to deliveries, including delivery notes, vehicle logs or PDA's. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered on the road. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including load limits and securement procedures. Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed.

Requirements

A valid Class 2 HGV (C) license minimum. CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification. A valid Digital Tachograph Card. Excellent knowledge of road safety and driving regulations. A responsible and reliable attitude, with strong attention to detail. Previous experience as a Class 2 HGV driver is essential. Tail lift/pallet truck experience desirable. Good communication skills and the ability to represent the company in a professional manner. Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.

Hours and Salary

Monday to Friday 08:00 - 18:00 Saturday on a rota (approx. 1 in 5) 14.50 per hour (45 hours per week)
A company driving assessment and DBS will be carried for successful applicants.
