Duties

Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles, including recovery trucks, rigid car transporters and hook loaders. Load and unload vehicles both running and non-running. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to verify mechanical condition and safety features are in optimal working order. Communicate effectively with customers to indicate arrival time and complete paperwork on collection. Maintain accurate documentation for each trip, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets. Assist with yard jockey duties or yard management tasks as needed to support overall logistics operations. Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Qualifications

Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) license with a clean driving record. Valid CPC. Proven experience in commercial driving, shuttle driving, or route delivery within a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with operating various commercial vehicles such as box trucks, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks. Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle inspections and troubleshooting minor issues. Experience with load & unload procedures using pallet jacks or forklifts (certification preferred). Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members. Ability to navigate using GPS systems and plan efficient routes across urban or rural areas. Knowledge of health & safety regulations related to heavy vehicle operation and freight handling.

Pay: 140.00-200.00 per day
