Job Summary

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our powered access hire team based in Walkden, Salford. This role involves delivering and collecting powered access equipment (such as cherry pickers, scissor lifts, and vehicle-mounted platforms) to customer sites across the North West. You will be responsible for safe transportation, basic customer demonstrations, and ensuring equipment is loaded/unloaded securely.

Key Responsibilities

Drive HGV Class 2 vehicles to deliver and collect powered access machinery Conduct safe loading/unloading using vehicle-mounted cranes or manual assistance where required Provide excellent customer service, including basic handover and safety checks on site Complete daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate delivery paperwork Adhere to all health & safety regulations, including tachograph and drivers' hours rules
Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 4:30am - 4:30pm (12-hour shifts) Saturday rota: 1 in 4 (with additional pay) Daily overtime may be necessary depending on workload and customer requirements
Requirements

Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence Full CPC and Digital Tachograph card Previous experience in HGV driving (preferably in plant/access equipment delivery) IPAF certification is highly desirable (training can be provided for the right candidate) Good physical fitness for occasional manual handling Strong customer service skills and a safety-focused approach Maximum 6 points on licence (no DR/DD endorsements)
