Job Description

We are currently seeking to recruit Drivers at Class 2 to work from the Company's Depot in Newtownabbey.

Drivers will be expected to perform work in the operation of an HGV vehicle to ensure the safe transportation of customers goods to and from multiple destinations and to ensure the aforementioned operation of an HGV vehicle is done in a safe, effective and efficient manner complying with legislative requirements, best practice and company procedures.

Drivers will be responsible for a range of activities including:

Administrative duties involved with the role including tachograph records, daily duty records and customer documentation Load security and restraint of goods whilst in transit Daily vehicle checks
Drivers are expected to abide by the rules of the road and act as an ambassador for our company. They are expected to be professional and presentable and capable of engaging with suppliers and customers on behalf of the Company.

Drivers should have a working knowledge of the Highway Code rules and regulations involved in the safe and efficient operation of an HGV vehicle including possession of a full HGV licence. Drivers should also have the ability to deal effectively and patiently with others, as well as an ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English. Whilst not essential, it would be desirable for applicants to have more than 3 years' experience of driving at an HGV level plus a Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card (DQC).

Special Requirements

Must be prepared to undertake when requested and successfully pass alcohol and drug tests on the basis of unannounced testing, reasonable suspicion, and or post-accident testing. Acceptable alcohol level 0.09. Must be prepared not to smoke in Company vehicles and buildings nor those of our customers and / or suppliers
