Overview

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for exchanging full and empty containers across various customer sites, delivering materials throughout mainland UK. Some nights may be required from Monday to Thursday, but you can expect to maintain a balanced schedule with no weekends or bank holidays necessary, as our business is typically closed on those days. The position is suited for those who value a decent work-life balance, making it an ideal choice for both seasoned and new drivers looking to join a supportive team.

Ideal Candidate

- Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence
- CPC qualification and a solid understanding of road safety regulations
- Flexibility to operate both curtain side and skip/hook lift vehicles
- Punctuality and a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills for liaising with customers and the team
- Attention to detail, especially for transporting materials safely

Benefits On Offer

- Competitive pay of 14.71 per hour, guaranteed for 45 hours per week
- Overtime available after 48 hours at 19.61 per hour
- Night out money of 26.20, tax-free
- Additional attendance bonus of 100 for full attendance
- Ongoing CPC training provided after six months of service
- 22 days of holiday per year, plus paid bank holidays
- Paid time off between Christmas and New Year for those with six months of service

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate curtain side rigid vehicles and participate in skip and hook lift operations
- Ensure timely delivery and exchange of containers across various customer locations
- Maintain accurate logistics records and documentation
- Conduct pre-vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues
- Provide excellent customer service while representing Tom Martin & Co Ltd
