Responsibilities

Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to designated locations Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption Conduct pre-journey inspections of the vehicle, including checking tyres, brakes, lights, and load security Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery times, delays, or issues encountered en route Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, traffic regulations, and company policies during every journey Assist with general vehicle maintenance as required to ensure operational readiness

Experience

Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles Demonstrable knowledge of safe driving practices and road safety regulations within the UK Experience in handling deliveries using flatbed lorries or similar vehicles is advantageous Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving (category C or above) with a clean driving record Previous experience in delivery driver roles is preferred but not essential for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
