Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, and will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to safety standards and excellent driving skills to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the cargo.

Duties

Operate a flatbed lorry to transport goods to various locations in a safe and efficient manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate class for commercial driving (HGV licence preferred). Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, particularly with flatbed vehicles. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A good level of physical fitness is required for loading and unloading cargo.
