Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 heavy goods vehicle to transport electrical equipment and materials to various locations. Your role is vital in ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent service to our clients.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a Class 2 (heavy goods vehicle) for the transportation of electrical supplies and equipment. Load and unload cargo using appropriate manual handling techniques or mechanical aids such as pallet jacks or forklifts. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal working condition, including checking brakes, lights, and fluid levels. Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules while adhering to road safety regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections. Follow all health and safety procedures, including compliance with manual transmission operation and heavy vehicle regulations.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, shuttle driving, or route driving with a focus on heavy vehicles. Strong knowledge of driving regulations for heavy trucks, including manual transmission operation. Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting. Experience with freight delivery, load & unload procedures, and warehouse operations. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as forklift or pallet jacks is a plus. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively. Ability to handle various types of commercial vehicles including box trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, or tanker trucks as needed. Pay: 15.22-20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
