HGV Class 2 Driver with Warehouse Support

Are you ready for a driving role that offers variety, teamwork, and the chance to make a real impact? We're looking for a reliable and adaptable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our family-run company supplying aquatic, reptile, and pet stores across the UK from our warehouse in Bedford.

Our company has recently undergone some management updates, and we're trying a fresh approach to ensure both our current and new employees enjoy a positive, supportive, and rewarding work environment.

This is more than just a driving role -- while your primary responsibility will be delivering goods safely and efficiently, you'll also get involved in the warehouse from time to time, helping with order preparation, stock checks, and general warehouse support during busy periods.

You will be delivering with vehicles ranging from 3.5-ton vans to 18-ton rigid trucks to retail outlets, garden centres, and pet shops throughout the UK. Lorries are pre-loaded by the warehouse team, and deliveries can include pallets, cages and handball. You may need to sack barrow a delivery to a high street shop or use the tail lift to drop off a pallet or more.

Hours:

37-40 per week

Standard working days: Tuesday to Friday Early starts and long days are common Flexible approach to working Mondays as needed Some overnight work required on Tuesday and Thursday for two-day routes, using sleeper cabs Overtime paid for additional hours
All routes are tachograph achievable, and lorry parks are paid. All vehicles are properly maintained, serviced and weighed on our own weighbridge after loading.

What We're Looking For:

Valid HGV Class 2 licence (Cat C) with no more than 6 points Current Driver CPC Digi Tacho Card Flexible, proactive, and hands-on attitude Comfortable assisting in the warehouse when required Excellent timekeeping and reliability Safe driving record and awareness of health & safety regulations

Preferred (but not essential):

Previous experience in warehouse or logistics support Forklift experience
