HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver - Immediate Start (Brighton & Hove)

The Flexi Group, working in partnership with the local council, are currently recruiting HGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers to join our team in Brighton and Hove. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced drivers looking for secure, ongoing work with competitive pay rates.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 06:00/07:00 starts, 10-12 hour shifts

Pay Rates:

Weekdays (06:00-20:00): 16.26 per hour (18.22 incl. holiday pay) Saturday Day: 24.39 per hour (27.33 incl. holiday pay) Bank Holidays: 32.52 per hour (36.44 incl. holiday pay)

The Role

As a Class 2 Refuse Driver, you will:

Safely drive and operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle. Support your crew and ensure their safety while on route. Collect and empty commercial and residential waste and recycling bins. Report vehicle or machinery faults, missed collections, and route issues to the Transport team. Assist with loading duties when required (involving walking long distances and handling bins). Safely guide the vehicle in tight or crowded areas. Attend training sessions and comply with all Health & Safety regulations. Complete regular DVLA checks and adhere to industry standards.
Full training and local route familiarisation will be provided.

What We're Looking For

Valid Class 2 LGV/HGV licence (max 6 points) Valid CPC card and digital tachograph card Minimum 1 year's UK Class 2 driving experience Previous refuse driving experience preferred, but not essential Physically fit and able to load bins when required Reliable, safety-conscious, and personable when working in the community Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
