Overview

We are seeking several dedicated and skilled Class 2 Skip Drivers to join our team in Wolverhampton . The ideal candidates will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries and collection, while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage various driving tasks and operations.

Duties

Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Load and unload cargo/skips/bins. Ensure all loads/skips/bins are fully secured for transport. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions from clients. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and operational efficiency.

Skills

Proven experience in a similar role. Previous experience working within metal recycling operations is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
