Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance.

Duties

Operate lorries to deliver goods to various locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete necessary paperwork for each journey. Communicate effectively with office staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for lorry operation. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within the logistics industry. Strong mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues. Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and clients effectively. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines. Familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus, including loading procedures and inventory management. A commitment to safety and adherence to road regulations at all times.
