Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in delivering goods efficiently and safely. This role requires excellent communication skills and mechanical knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of our vehicles. The successful applicant will be responsible for transporting goods using a flatbed lorry, while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

Operate a 32 tonne tipper lorry for the safe delivery of goods to various locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of items for transport. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records as required by company policy. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions from clients.

Experience

Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type. Previous experience as a tipper driver is highly desirable. Familiarity with tipper lorries is an advantage. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the vehicle when necessary. Experience working in a construction environment is beneficial. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
