Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable lorry driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. As a lorry driver, you will be responsible for operating a lorry, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of the cargo throughout the transportation process. This role requires excellent driving skills and the ability to navigate various road conditions.

Responsibilities

Operate a lorry safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required. Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures related to safety and transportation. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or inquiries from clients. Delivering and collecting skips Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently. General yard and vehicle maintenance when required.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with appropriate endorsements for commercial driving. Experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with lorry operations is advantageous. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism on the road.
