Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team. Candidates currently holding a Class 2 license and interested in upgrading to a Class 1 are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Assist with loading and unloading HGV vehicles safely.

Operate heavy goods vehicles across various UK routes in compliance with safety standards.

Perform routine vehicle checks and promptly report any maintenance needs to the transport manager.

Maintain accurate delivery records and associated paperwork.

Strictly follow all road safety, health and safety procedures, and company policies.

Consistently deliver high-quality customer service.

Ensure that vehicles are always kept clean and tidy, inside and out.

Shifts

Predominantly Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts required.

Dayshift.

Willingness to stay overnight in the vehicle when necessary is advantageous.

Flexibility with start times to meet operational requirements, in accordance with rest period regulations.

Essential Requirements

Full right to work in the UK.

Valid Driver CPC, tachograph card, and driving licence.

Ability to commute reliably to our yard in Ballachulish.

No more than six penalty points on your licence.

Comprehensive understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.

Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Preferable Qualifications

Previous experience is desirable but not required.

Loading and unloading experience advantageous; support and training will be provided as necessary.

Familiarity with operating a hook loader lorry.

Telehandler operation skills.

Solid knowledge of local and regional transportation routes.

Due to insurance requirements, applicants must be eligible to drive commercial vehicles covered under our policy. This typically includes individuals aged 25 or over with at least 2 years of driving experience.

Pay: 16.50-20.00 per hour
