Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring that all deliveries are completed in a timely manner. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to traffic regulations while driving various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries.

Duties

Operate and drive lorries to transport goods to designated locations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, with a focus on maintaining the integrity of the products being delivered. Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition before and after each journey. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transit. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road. Assist in training new drivers on safe driving practices and company policies as needed.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for flatbed operation. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods. Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently, with experience in securing loads preferred. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members. A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism at all times.
