Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV class 1 driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for shunting loads on site. Must have confident reversing skills. Monday - Friday, weekends and overtime available at own discretion.

Duties

Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations. Transport goods using flatbed vehicles, securing loads appropriately for safe delivery. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel usage. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety protocols and vehicle maintenance.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licence. Familiarity with flatbed driving techniques and securing loads effectively. Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism. A good understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
