Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class one Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively.

Responsibilities

Operate lorries in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Safely load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling of cargo. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to transportation and safety. Manage routes efficiently to optimise delivery times while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with appropriate classifications for lorry operation. Proven experience as a commercial driver, Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently. Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy items when necessary. A clean driving record is preferred ; candidates may be required to undergo background checks.
