We're seeking to recruit an HGV driver, Class 1 or 2. What we do is a little different from a standard driving job, where you turn up and someone unloads / reloads your vehicle. A high proportion of our deliveries are pumped over from the vehicles to customer storage tanks. Traditionally we have run 6 wheeler rigids but in recent years have added units and urban trailers to the fleet. The vehicles have modifications to aid the deliveries but this is not tanker work, all vehicles are curtain siders. For the most part we work Monday - Friday, but days can be long and our existing drivers complete between 50-65 hours per week, depending on family circumstances, with 2 or 3 nights away.
We're looking for someone who holds an HGV licence and who has experience with multi-drop work. We're not looking for speed we need drivers who are considered and methodical in their approach to the job. The process is all important and it needs to be followed to ensure the job is completed safely and without problems. Drivers need good personable & communication skills as they deal directly with the end customer at all delivery points. The job can be quite physical using pumping equipment, pipes, bunds etc. There is some ADR work and having an ADR certification would be an advantage, however this is not essential as the company will fund and put a candidate through the course following a successful probation period.
We deliver throughout the UK from our depot in Lancashire so there are no set runs or schedules.
Full accompanied and ongoing training is given in all aspects of the work and use of the equipment.
