Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HGV Class 1 driver to join our haulage team. The ideal candidate will have experience in walking floor/ejector trailers and a strong commitment to delivering goods safely and efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of customer service. This truck will operate predominately in the South West.

Responsibilities

Operate Walking Floor/Ejector trailer to transport recycled goods to various destinations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including waste transfer notes, mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times. Communicate effectively with planners and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Follow all traffic laws and company policies while on the road. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company positively.

Skills

Proven experience in the industry would be preferable. Ability to follow movement orders when required, especially when being escorted. Familiarity with walking floor / PTO operations and safety protocols. Strong navigation skills and knowledge of local routes. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Able to manage their tachographs within the guidelines & restrictions. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members. A valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle type is essential and valid CPC.
