Job Description

Intercity Logistics are a Hatfield based specialist haulage company that provide a first-class secure service to the banking, government & infrastructure sectors, the role will include delivering high valued items, they are seeking an enthusiastic and customer driven Class 2 driver to join their team. You will report to the Operations Manager on a daily basis.

As a driver for our company, you will be required to operate a wide range of vehicles, depending on the needs of our clients. This variety keeps the role engaging and dynamic.

It's also important to highlight that this is a hands-on position. Beyond driving, you will be actively involved in tasks such as loading and unloading goods, securing items safely, and ensuring all freight is handled correctly. This aspect of the job provides a physical and practical element that many drivers find both rewarding and essential to maintaining a smooth workflow.

Overall, the role offers a great combination of variety, skill-building, and practical involvement, making it well-suited for someone who enjoys staying active, facing new challenges, and taking pride in delivering excellent service.

Days / Hours of work for days - Monday-Friday 45 hours a week (Overtime & weekend work may be required as needed)

Holiday - 22 days + Bank Holidays

Requirements & Responsibilities:



Must have at least two years HGV driving experience, hold a clean driving licence

Must hold valid CPC + Digital Tacho Card.

Multidrop Deliveries.

Ability to operate Tail-lift vehicles.

Pallet and trolley deliveries.

Stair-walker deliveries, (training provided)

Safely use Pump Trucks (training provided)

Unbox and remove packaging, and placements (when requested).

Manual Handling, carrying stock upstairs. (Risk assessments & method statements are available)

CRB Checks & SC clearance.

Ensure all company driving policies are adhered to at all times.

To drive in a safe and responsible manner (all vehicles are tracked with telematics reporting on driver style), driving style will be monitored on a regular basis.

All accidents/incidents are to be reported to operations immediately.

All driver training to be completed within first 3 months of employment as well as FORS e-learning modules.

A demonstrable understanding of vehicle safety and upkeep.

Accurately complete all relevant paperwork.

Load and unload in accordance with the Company code of practice and use appropriate equipment.

Maintaining security of load when loading, transporting, and delivering.

Carry out daily checks on vehicles.

Comply with legislation regarding vehicle safety, tachographs operation and working time.

Relay appropriate customer queries to management as required.

An understanding of the importance of customer service is essential, this is not an A to B driving job and there is a lot of customer contact.

Act as an ambassador for the company, providing high standard of customer care and being polite at all times.
