The Role

We are looking for a professional, safety-focused

HGV Driver

to join our transport team. This is a customer-facing role where you will play a vital part in delivering materials safely, efficiently, and on time -- while representing Encon Group to the highest standards.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for multi-drop deliveries, vehicle safety, compliance, and excellent customer interaction at every site.

What You'll Be Doing

Customer Delivery & Service

Complete deliveries safely, on time, and in line with customer instructions Plan routes effectively, considering restrictions and delivery schedules Ensure safe access and unloading at customer premises Check orders against delivery paperwork and confirm condition of goods Obtain delivery signatures and accurately record any discrepancies or returns Maintain a professional, courteous approach with customers, colleagues, and the public Identify and report any potential sales leads or customer feedback to the branch

Vehicle, Safety & Compliance

Drive safely and professionally at all times in line with Road Traffic Law and DVSA regulations Operate within tachograph, drivers' hours, and working time rules Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly Supervise safe loading within weight limits and secure loads correctly Use PPE and follow all Health & Safety procedures on site and at customer locations Operate a Moffett Mounty forklift (where licensed) for loading and unloading Accurately report incidents, near misses, damage, or roadside stops Maintain vehicle security at all times

Team & Branch Support

Support the branch with loading, picking, stock checks, and housekeeping when required Be flexible to changes in delivery schedules to meet customer needs Attend required training, including CPC and safety updates

What We're Looking For

Essential

Valid HGV Class C Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card Moffett licence (or willingness to be trained) Professional HGV driving experience Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance
