Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of plant and Electricity poles, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and experience in plant machinery, particularly those familiar with flatbed operations. The position involves operating large vehicles, maintaining accurate delivery documentation, and representing our company with professionalism on the road.

Responsibilities

Safely operate flatbed lorries carrying excavators to specified site locations Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met Secure cargo properly on flatbeds to prevent damage during transit Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations at all times Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times or any issues encountered during transit Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, adhering to safety protocols

Qualifications

Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles (category C or above) Proven experience as an HGV driver, preferably with flatbed operations and plant experience Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record Ability to operate flatbed trucks confidently and securely load/unload cargo Good organisational skills and attention to detail in documentation and route planning

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 18.00-20.00 per hour
