We are looking for a HGV Driver to work as part of our Pilkington Gateshead team, with particular responsibility for delivering products to customers in accordance with our safety, quality and efficiency standards. Working hours are 39 hours per week, from 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday.

MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE:

Ensuring all glass is delivered in a suitable condition and in a timely manner to the intended destination. Maintaining a professional appearance at all times in both presence and driving style. Maintaining high standards to the delivery vehicle Adhering to despatch schedules and be willing to make changes at short notice in order to meet customer requirements. Maintaining work records as per Company and legislative requirements, including delivery paperwork and tachographs Involvement in process improvement teams as required. Providing cover for other areas of the business (including loading vehicles) as and when required

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Commitment to Health & Safety systems and procedures Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision Good communication skills Ability to stay calm under pressure Flexible with working hours in order to meet customer service requirements. Good time keeping, with ability to meet strict deadlines Glass handling experience preferable but not essential
