We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Driver to join ICT Reverse Limited.
The successful candidate will be required to drive our new S-Class Scania or, when required, to drive our Scania 18t rigid shredder truck. You may also be required to occasionally drive the company van.
Work shall be predominantly UK based. Working hours are between Monday and Friday, with a requirement for overnight stays during the week.
Opportunity for international work as business requirements develop.
This is an ideal role for an experienced HGV driver who appreciates set routes and workloads. Collections will be a combination of stock movement between our Morecambe and Watford warehouses, and collection/deliveries, to and from our UK based customers.
The successful candidate will be performance driven and have excellent initiative for completing the job and adhering to UK/EU driving legislation.
A can-do attitude is essential with an excellent attitude to timekeeping.
Responsibilities
Safely operate the HGV, Van and Forklift
Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
Follow designated routes and schedules efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
Perform routine mechanical checks and report any vehicle malfunctions or repairs needed.
Assist with warehouse operations when required, including moving freight or equipment within the facility.
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and transportation regulations.
Skills
Proven experience in commercial driving and must hold Class 1 drivers licence
Must have driver CPC
Forklift licence is desirable, however training will be given
Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting and maintenance of vehicles.
Ability to operate manual transmissions and handle heavy loads safely.
Familiarity with warehouse operations including load & unload procedures using pallet jacks or forklifts.
Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and clients/customers
Reliability is key, with excellent timekeeping skills are required together with having a flexible attitude
ADR is preferred, but not essential
