Job Description

MPA are working on behalf of our client seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism while on the road. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, and possess a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities

  • Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations.
  • Load and unload goods, securing cargo appropriately for transport.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Adhere to all company policies regarding safety procedures and customer service standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients.
Experience
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Driver with a valid HGV licence is essential.
  • Experience in flatbed driving is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience working with steel and valid CPC
39.5h per week + overtime paid at time and a half
