Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and experienced HGV Driver to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including skips. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety and timely deliveries. This role involves route driving, load and unload duties, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on efficiency and customer service.

Duties

Operate various types of commercial vehicles, skip and artic Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance Collect and deliver goods to designated locations. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status or issues Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks and report any mechanical concerns promptly Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including moving freight within the facility

Experience

Proven experience in commercial driving, shuttle driving, or delivery driver roles Familiarity with operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is preferred Experience with route driving for freight, heavy haul, or military logistics is advantageous Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and heavy equipment operation is desirable Prior work in warehouse environments or yard jockey roles enhances suitability for this position Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members and clients Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL license) is required Additional experience in bus driving (school bus or paratransit), tow trucks, or tanker operations is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 16.50 per hour
