Main Purpose of the Role

The movement of goods between the DC and the depots, and to fulfil any general haulage requirements deemed necessary by the business, including back-loading.

To conduct daily safety checks on the HGV vehicle allocated to them. Check that the goods loaded onto the trailer are stowed safely and correctly. Travel to the destination Depot / Customer by the safest most direct route adhering to Drivers hours' rules & regulations. On return to the Depot, vehicles are to be refuelled with the relevant fuel and to be parked in their designated parking bays. To report any defects on the vehicles to HGV Management team through the Defect reporting system.

Personal attributes:

Class 1 C +E HGV driving license, with a minimum 2 years HGV 1 driving experience HGV Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) Flexible approach to work patterns Good geographical knowledge of the UK Good literacy and numeracy skills Counter balance FLT license preferable, though subject to training / refresher training during employment
