Role Description
Are you an experienced and reliable HGV Driver looking to join a supportive team in a well-established builders' merchant? We're looking for a customer-focused, safety-conscious
HGV Driver
to join the team at
our branch in Sudbury
.
This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in delivering building materials to our customers safely, efficiently, and with great service -- every time.
Responsibilities:
Transporting and delivering goods to customer sites across the region
Loading, unloading, and ensuring correct stock movement and delivery
Using a crane (HIAB) safely and in accordance with regulations (training can be provided)
Completing daily vehicle and defect checks, maintaining clean and safe vehicles
Liaising with customers to provide excellent service on every drop
Following company procedures for delivery, paperwork, and stock returns
Supporting the wider branch and logistics team where needed

A valid HIAB licence (brick grab) is preferred -- or willingness to train
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar multi-drop delivery role
Strong customer service and communication skills
Confidence navigating local delivery routes safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
High standards of safety, timekeeping, and personal presentation
