Duties

Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, box trucks, flatbeds, dump trucks, and tankers to transport freight across designated routes. Load and unload cargo efficiently using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and route records while adhering to schedules. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transit to ensure safety for yourself and others. Assist with yard jockey or yard management duties when required to move trailers within the facility.

Requirements

Proven experience in commercial driving roles such as freight delivery, shuttle driving, or route driving with a focus on heavy haul or paratransit vehicles. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., tractor-trailer license). Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and heavy equipment operation including forklifts or tow trucks is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting. Experience with load & unload procedures using pallet jacks or other handling equipment. Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and customers effectively. Ability to adhere to safety standards while operating various types of commercial vehicles such as box trucks, flatbeds, tankers, or limousines.
