Michelmersh are looking for a talented individual who is keen to pursue a career within logistics and train to become a HGV C+E driver.
We are recruiting for an HGV driver/Transport Compliance apprentice at our site based in West Sussex with a potential start date of January 2026

We will work in partnership with TRS to deliver a 24-month training programme which will result in you becoming a fully-fledged member of our driver team. We will expect you to work hard and be 100% committed, but you will have the guidance of fellow colleagues, driver trainers and management to help you grow and fulfil your full potential.
Our apprenticeship programme combines technical skills training, academic study and work-based learning including job shadowing. Bringing learning and earning together, not only will you study towards obtaining a nationally recognised qualification, but you will also earn a good salary which increases as you pass key training milestones.
Your challenge
In this role, the key responsibilities will include:
Delivering our products in line with our agreed service levels to customers throughout the South East whilst ensuring a professional service throughout
Learning about the regulations surrounding drivers' hours, tachographs and working time legislation to ensure both compliance and safety standards are adhered to
Assisting Transport Manager with Compliance based tasks
Taking ownership in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the company vehicles, as they represent the high level of service we strive to offer
What we offer
Starting salary of 25,400 PA, increasing to 30,000 PA after completion of initial qualifications (12 months). This will increase to a full driver's salary after full completion of qualifications (estimated 24 months)

Key skills and experience
Valid UK driving licence (car) with at least 3 years driving experience and no endorsements (ESSENTIAL)
English and Maths at GCSE Grade D (or equivalent) would be desirable but not essential as our apprenticeship programme can support you with further achievements in these areas if required
It Literate and Excel knowledge
Time Keeping/Organization
A clear passion for HGV driving and logistics
A can-do attitude and appreciation of customer service
An excellent team player with the ability to remain motivated whilst working alone
Having previous delivery/road experience an advantage but not essential
You will need to attend an on-site assessment (Date TBC) to give you an opportunity to meet us and find out about us as a Company.
