Job Description

John Brindley Ltd is looking for an MOT lane assistant to join our team.

This position is responsible for presenting HGV MOT's and brake tests at our 2 lane DVSA/ATF facility.

Class 1 qualified tasks to include occasional local trailer collections.

The ideal candidate will have previous HGV driving experience, experience of HGV MOT criteria, a strong work ethic & the ability to work as a team in a busy environment.

Must be able to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, customers, vendors, and other employees at all levels.

This role is fast paced & time management is crucial. You will require excellent organisational skills as well as the ability to prioritise to mange time efficiently.

A reasonable level of fitness is required as this role involves being on your feet or loading/coupling/uncoupling trailers & vehicles throughout the day.

Must be willing to learn new processes and procedures.

Essential Functions:

*Attention to detail

*Good time management

*Maintain accurate records of work carried out for onward charges.

*Provide excellent customer service

*Ensure a safe and clean operation of the work areas and vehicles.

*Actively use good judgement, listen to directions, and follow established policies and procedures

*Utilise electronic tablets to read instructions

*Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Valid Class 1 or Shunter licence.

A minimum of 2 years driving experience is preferred.

Beneficial but not essential:

*Forklift and/or telehandler license.

*Knowledge of DVSA MOT criteria.

*Experience with HGV MOT preparation/repairs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 38,000.00-39,000.00 per year
