We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Instructor to join our team. As an HGV Instructor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive training to individuals aspiring to become professional HGV drivers. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality instruction in both theoretical knowledge and practical driving skills, ensuring that trainees meet all necessary regulatory standards and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver structured training programs for HGV driver candidates, covering topics such as vehicle operation, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Conduct theoretical instruction sessions, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and materials to effectively communicate complex concepts.
Provide hands-on training in vehicle operation, maneuvering, and safety practices, both on-site and on the road.
Assess trainee performance through practical demonstrations, evaluations, and feedback sessions, identifying areas for improvement and offering guidance for skill enhancement.
Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, progress reports, and certification documentation.
Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and best practices to ensure training materials and methods remain current and relevant.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an HGV driver with a clean driving record.
Previous experience as an HGV Instructor or in a similar training role is highly desirable.
In-depth knowledge of HGV operation, safety regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and instruct diverse groups of learners.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching and mentoring others.
