HGV Mechanic

Pawson Commercial have more than 30 years' experience of truck sales, truck maintenance, truck export and transport delivery. The Pawson name has been renowned and well respected for service and quality within the commercial vehicle industry for many years.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic to join our existing team at our site in Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, demonstrating a commitment to quality workmanship and safety. This role requires a proactive approach to diagnosing issues and performing repairs on various types of vehicles and machinery. The Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles and machinery, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections. Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults accurately. Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other components as necessary. Maintain comprehensive records of all services performed, including parts used and time spent on repairs. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while working in the workshop. Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role within the automotive or machinery sector. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology or mechanical engineering are advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: 17.00-25.50 per hour
