Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team.

We are a family run business where you will be treated like a human being and not just a payroll number. We cover just about everything from cars and motorcycles right the way through to HGVs and trailers. You will be working on the heavy goods side of the business looking after a mixture of vehicles from 7.5t trucks up to tractor units and trailers. No two days work are ever the same.

Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques. Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems. Conduct routine maintenance checks and services to ensure optimal performance and reduce vehicle down time.. Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT test . Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all repair activities. Keep the workshop clean and organised, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, and automotive technology. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members. Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanics or automotive engineering are preferred but not essential. A valid HGV class 1 or 2 driving license is advantageous for this position.
