Civil Safety was established in 2002 by Managing Director Ben Edgley. Starting in 2002 with just one employee Civil Safety steadily grew from servicing confined space safety equipment locally, to the sale, hiring and servicing of equipment nationwide.
In 2015 we developed further and added Drainage & Industrial Cleaning to our service portfolio. We provide industrial cleaning & drainage services all over the UK from both our Ramsey and Whittlesey locations and due to continued growth the company divided in October 2018 into two businesses; Civil Safety Drainage LTD and Civil Safety Training and Rescue.We pride ourselves on family values, we are a very close-knit unit of 50+ employees all working together to build a successful brand.
About The Role
Location: Ramsey
Hours: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to 14-17ph dependent on experience
The Job
You will be working independently operating our high specification tankering JetVac units. Work Projects will include any drainage related issues, moving treated and untreated waste product, assisting with remedial works on Anglian Water sites and emergency reactive works.
Starting at the depot, you will be mobile attending to all work activities within various work sectors, including industrial, utility, commercial, residential. Travelling in your vehicle you will be covering jobs throughout the region which can involve travel time in addition.
About You
Ideally you may already be familiar with JetVac tankering works, but not essential as full training will be provided for successful candidates. This role is not "just driving"
You will be required to hold an HGV Class 2 licence, with no more than 3 penalty points. A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is also desirable.
You can become a successful Utilities Waste-Water Technician if you have problem-solving, listening, critical thinking, teamworking abilities and a customer focused approach. Also, as you need to operate machinery, excellent hand-eye coordination and concentration are essential skills.
The Following Skills Are Also Useful
Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry.
Physical fitness and lots of energy.
Full UK driving driving licence with no more than 3 points
Industry related qualifications such as NRSWA and Confined Space (desirable)
Good communication skills
Ability to work with a team
A keen eye for good health and safety practises
Keeping and maintaining a tidy workplace (your lorry)
