Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm + overtime

An exciting opportunity has become available at Caledonian Site Services at our Linlithgow depot. We are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a variety of vehicles, although largely truck mounted road sweepers and associated equipment. Specialist training will be provided where required.

Caledonian Site Services is one of Scotland's major operators in the street and roadsweeping industry. We also operate a fleet of industrial cleaning machines which are hired to a broad range of industries for indoor use.

Our modern fleet of road sweepers is largely based on 18 tonne gvw Scania chassis, fitted with Bucher or Stock sweeper bodies. We operate modern workshop facilities and are in the process of extending these to accommodate business growth.

We are seeking a candidate who ideally has;

Experience from within a HGV Technician/ HGV Mechanic/ HGV Engineer role Municipal experience including working on road sweepers would be great, but not essential Repairs and wheel alignment HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent. Class 2 licence preferred. Experience of working in a similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry. Excellent customer service. Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.
What will be your duties?

As a HGV Mechanic you will undertake routine inspection & repair of the Caledonian fleet of vehicles, mostly at our workshop Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
