Sayers Road Tankers Engineering LTD produce high quality road tankers, specialising in the milk, waste and water sectors. We are seeking a vessel cladder/ body fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in roles with transferable skills, such as engineering, fitting, fabrication, production or similar, with the ability to work with various materials. This role requires a hands-on approach, ensuring that all work is carried out to a high aesthetic and structural standards. The candidate will play a crucial role in the production of critical equipment for high profile clients.
Duties
Tacking support structures to vessel.
Cutting and shaping insulation to vessel (polystyrene, rockwool).
Fitting and securing cladding over insulation (stainless steel, GRP etc)
Installation of cosmetic flashings and trims, including fabrication where necessary.
Assist in the mounting of vessel to chassis, including fitting of flitch plates.
Other fitting tasks as required, including pipework, conspicuity markings, mastic etc.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently (drills, grinders etc)
Engage in manual handling as required during the fitting process, ensuring safe processes are followed.
Operating overhead cranes once trained.
Collaborate with colleagues, to ensure smooth workflow through the factory.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements

Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within a similar industry OR
Demonstrable transferable skills
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
