We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy goods vehicles, This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical expertise in a dynamic environment, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet. The position involves working with a range of tools and equipment, requiring strong mechanical and electrical knowledge. All roles are paid positions, including internships.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough diagnostics on HGVs using schematics and electrical experience to identify faults
Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy vehicles, including welding, fabrication, and soldering tasks
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs efficiently
Carry out mechanical work such as assembly, equipment repair, and heavy lifting tasks
Interpret technical schematics and diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs
Maintain detailed records of work carried out for compliance and quality assurance purposes
Assist with the maintenance of auxiliary equipment such as excavators and forklifts
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations
Requirements
Proven experience in heavy vehicle or equipment repair, with strong mechanical knowledge
Electrical experience combined with skills in fabrication, soldering, welding, and schematics interpretation
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised repair equipment
Knowledge of assembly processes and equipment maintenance procedures
Experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators and forklifts is desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills for effective communication with clients
Relevant qualifications or certifications in vehicle or mechanical engineering are preferred but not essential
