We are seeking skilled and dedicated HGV Technicians to join our maintenance team in our Avonmouth, Gloucester & Swindon locations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to all vehicles entering the workshop in a timely, effective and productive manner resulting in delivery of a quality service to our customers.
Your primary responsibilities are;
Accurately and skilfully undertake the repair and servicing of motor vehicles.
Carrying out safety inspections to a standard in line with the guide to maintaining roadworthiness
Work with other departments to facilitate the servicing and repair of vehicles.
Detect and diagnose any additional faults for further repair.
Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with the Company, manufacturer and industry guidelines.
Fulfil all tasks to the customer's complete satisfaction.
Prepare vehicles to a high standard which enables MOT Pass 100% of the time.
Duties
Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
Perform repairs using fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly techniques
Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex systems effectively
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts utilised
Assist with the installation of specialised equipment such as excavators or forklifts when required
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime
Support the team in heavy lifting tasks and equipment handling
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair and maintenance
Proficiency in electrical systems, schematics reading, fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly processes
Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery such as excavators or forklifts
Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics accurately
Knowledge of heavy vehicle systems including hydraulics and pneumatics
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
Good customer service skills when liaising with clients or internal teams
Physically capable of performing heavy lifting tasks safely
Organised approach to work with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently

HOURS OFWORK
40 hours per week, rotating early and late shift. Hours as per needs of the business.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 39,000.00-45,750.00 per year
