The Role
We're seeking a versatile HGV Fitter / Body Builder / Coach Builder to join our workshop team. You'll be involved in building, modifying, and repairing HGVs, commercial vehicles, and coaches, including the integration of specialist systems.
Key Responsibilities
Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specs
Assembling and fitting vehicle bodies, chassis, and components
Performing custom builds and repairs on HGVs and coaches
Installing parts like seats, floors, windows, and specialist equipment
Using hand and power tools for cutting, welding, and fitting
Inspecting work for quality and safety compliance
Collaborating with engineering and project teams
Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
Participating in training and continuous improvement
What You'll Need
Experience in HGV fitting, body building, or coach building
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Skilled in fabrication tools and measuring equipment
Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
Dedication to safety, quality, and learning
Nice to Have
Vocational qualifications in vehicle body building or fitting
Apprenticeship or formal training
Experience in HGV conversions or bespoke builds
Mechanical experience with HGVs
Working Hours & Benefits
Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-4:30pm | Friday: 8:00am-3:30pm
