Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HGV/PSV Technician to join our engineering team. This is a critical role focused on maintaining the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our fleet. The successful candidate will bring a disciplined approach to mechanical diagnostics and repair, ensuring our vehicles meet stringent regulatory standards and operational requirements.
Core Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair: Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and comprehensive repairs on HGV and PSV assets to ensure peak operational performance.
Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize industry-standard diagnostic hardware and software to accurately identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults.
Fabrication & Repair: Perform precision welding, soldering, and component fabrication as required for specialized repairs.
Workshop Operations: Safely operate power tools and workshop machinery, including forklifts, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous service records, detailing work performed, parts utilized, and compliance checks completed.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to Health & Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines and internal safety protocols to mitigate workplace risk.
Candidate Requirements
Technical Expertise: Proven experience in heavy vehicle mechanics (HGV/PSV) with a robust understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and drivetrains.
Diagnostic Proficiency: Competency in using modern electronic diagnostic tools and interpreting technical schematics.
Practical Skills: Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and the safe use of diverse power tools.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide clear technical updates to clients.
Licensing: A valid UK driving license is required. HGV/PSV Licence would be an advantage but not required
Benefits & Schedule
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift. Possible Saturdays and overtime to fit workload
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 55,000.00-62,000.00 per year
