Now, we're looking for a HIAB Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team.

Role Overview:

To operate a HIAB (lorry loader) vehicle for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of portable accommodation units, plant, and materials. The role requires strict adherence to all health and safety regulations, daily equipment checks, and responsible driving practices.

As a representative of Portable Space Limited, the HIAB Driver plays a key role in maintaining the company's reputation through professional conduct, safe operations, and a proactive approach to customer satisfaction and site safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out daily vehicle checks and visual inspections of lifting equipment; report defects immediately using the correct procedures. Operate the HIAB (lorry loader) safely and in accordance with the operator's manual and site conditions. Perform collections and deliveries of portable accommodation units, plant, machinery, and materials to and from customer sites. Ensure all lifting operations are carried out safely, considering site-specific risks (e.g. ground conditions, overhead cables, weather, public safety). Report any health and safety concerns to the Transport Manager without delay. Drive responsibly and courteously at all times, with particular care in local residential areas. Comply with all transport legislation, including driving hours, tachograph usage, and roadworthiness standards. Maintain a professional and positive attitude towards customers, acting as a representative of Portable Space Limited. Follow safe working practices and contribute to a safety-first culture on all sites. Take ownership of lifting operations unless under the direction of a qualified banksman. Maintain the vehicle's cleanliness and professional appearance. Undertake other duties as required in line with your skills and qualifications. Skills and Experience:

Essential

Valid UK Driving Licence (Class 1 HGV / Category C) is essential Driver CPC Qualification is essential Digital Tachograph Card

Desirable

Valid HIAB (Lorry Loader) Certification (e.g. ALLMI or equivalent) is desirable but full training will be given. CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme. Forklift or telehandler licence First Aid Qualification
